The complex ways of our wonderous God.

The complex ways of our wonderous God.

— I am going to be totally open with you here, as I need to testify of God’s working in my life’s real (physical) struggles. – I will be as brief as I can be without failing to acknowledge God’s important truths.

I am in the midst of seeking a remedy for a serious problem with an enlarged prostate gland. Ungodly fear would try to cause me to be anxious for my health, as I’ve had two older brothers who also had serious problems in this area as well. They have gone to be with the Lord, and are completely cured of all these trials that afflict us here on this sin-tainted earth.

— Long story short, after having our (my wife and I) earnest prayers for immediate healing declined by our loving God, I had to go to the Emergency Room in the middle of the night to have a urinal catheter inserted so as to give me relief from a life-threatening blockage. I have been put on modern medications, which are supposed to have good results, however I’ve had 3 failed attempts to live without the catheter since. In the months that have past our repeated prayers have not obtained my healing as of yet. This may bring comments that we suffer a lack of faith, and in response I’ve frustrated some counsel with my firm understanding of God’s superiority in my life, as I respond that, “I know God can and will heal me, however, He has a larger purpose in all this.”

— To verify the truth of this statement, I will give my testimony of how God has used my struggles to do His Kingdom’s work (His ongoing work).
— I hope this will help those of you who are also struggling with any yet-unanswered prayers.

It was after the failure of my second catheter removal, as we dealt with disappointment at God’s refusal to grant His healing and release from a sadly recurring blockage in my prostate. I was in great pain, and with precious little flow, the pain was increasing even as we prayed. We had already sought out many different forms of pain relief. All these home-remedies though helping to relieve the pain, they failed to allow proper urine flow, and as it turns out, this was causing a back-up that threatened the health of my kidneys. This I found out after I could no longer take the increasing pain that the my continuing bodily functions were causing. I had to return for another middle of the night trip to the ER. This time they removed 1.4 liters of urine from my super stretched bladder (This is an extremely dangerous amount). As a result, they noted some sign of kidney stress and sent me to spend the night in the hospital, so they could monitor for kidney damage.

— This is where God revealed one of His greater purposes in calling me through this time of struggle.

I was placed in a room with another elderly gentleman who was going through a terrible ordeal of fluid build-up in his lungs. This I ascertained as I heard the nursing teams come in with their machine and struggled to insert the suction apparatus into their patient, so they could remove the fluid build-up. The elderly gentleman resisted this quite a bit, as I’m sure that the whole process was extremely uncomfortable.

I felt compassion for the whole scene that was unfolding on the other side of the separating curtain between me and this suffering soul. So I did what I could, I prayed. I prayed for this man, and I prayed for the nurses who in spite of the resistance of their patient, they tried to comfort him as they convinced him to allow this obviously uncomfortable process, all so he could continue to breath.

Finally the procedure was accomplished and my roommate had settled down and was breathing better, the nurses were gone and there was peace and quiet in our room. This was in the wee hours of the night, and I was extremely tired. But I could not sleep. That small, still voice was speaking to me. God was asking me if I truly cared for the gentleman who struggled to breath in the bed next door to me. How could I sleep and not try to comfort him. – How could I do that?
— Well, I could ask to pray with him. (Have you ever had one of those conversations with God’s Holy Spirit?)

So, quietly and rather sheepishly, I got out of my bed and wheeled my intravenous stand over to the corner of that separating curtain, and catching the eyes of my roommate, I asked if I could pray for him. I will never forget those eyes. Although he was unable to speak, I could see the plea for help in those eyes. So I prayed. I prayed loud enough so he could hear me ask the Lord for His comfort and His peace in the midst of this  man’s storm. I asked God for healing and a good night’s rest for this man, and when I finished, I saw peace replace the fear in those eyes.

— I returned to my bed and we both were able to sleep through the rest of that night. When I finally awoke in the morning, they had taken my roommate away in the night. In the hurry to get discharged and back home, I failed to find out what had happened to him. I still do not know… But God does! (I do realize however that when a patient is taken away in the middle of the night, quite often it means he has passed away… KRK).

To this day I do not even know who he was, but now I do know why God wanted me there in that bed next to this suffering soul. I saw in those eyes that he accepted my prayer to a God that we were speaking our prayers to. That is all it takes for anyone to meet our Lord and Saviour. That is all it takes for you, if you don’t yet know Him. Accepting Jesus as your saving Lord is as simple as reaching out with your thoughts and crying out to Him to save you. He will hear and bring you into His love and protection.

— When I shared this incident to our fellow Christian friends, someone made a joke that this man saw an angel that night appear in his room. That is definitely good for a laugh… Just try to picture an angel in an open backed hospital robe hooked up to an intravenous drip on a stand coming to minister to you. No, God often uses simple people like you and I.

— I’ve tried to be as brief as truth would allow; however, the point is… Do you understand how God’s will is so far above our own?

— God has a purpose in what you are going through… and it does not always center around you and your discomfort.
— Let your faith grow to acknowledge the truth of Isaiah 55:8-9 (God is speaking here.) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

When God prompts me, I must post… And I trust this is a benefit to someone out there. …(In Christ KRK.)

*A Praise the Lord Update* — It is now about 4 months after my first Emergency Room visit and I am pretty much back to normal and healed of urinary difficulties. No need for catheterization, and I’m sleeping thru the night with minimal trips to the washroom. (At this age of 73, I have long ago had to disturb a full night’s sleep with 1-2 trips to urinate. – I apologize for my bluntness.) My healing is due to many people’s prayers, and the success of the medications my doctor’s have prescribed. These meds are not always effective and all of our body’s reactions lean upon our Creator’s design and blessings, so I focus chiefly on praising God for my recovery and giving thanks for all your prayers. – May God grant you health and answers to your prayer needs. Let us know of those prayer needs by dropping us a note in the comments section below… In Christ, Ken R. Kriese

God’s will be done is the hardest prayer of all I think. I am sorry you have such pain and troubles but I know it is NOT because you lack faith or that God dosent care. God has plans and you are part of them. I am praying that there is relief for your pain . Loveyou!! C
