Let’s begin by asking a simple question about PRAYER…

(Vs.34)  And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.

Is this a prayer?

*Q3. If what we find in Luke 23:34 is a prayer, who is praying to who?

*Q4. In the prayer of Jesus in Luke 23:34… Who is He asking God to forgive? (choose all the answers you think to be correct.)

*Q5. Digging a little deeper, if they were then forgiven for crucifying Christ, were they saved (given eternal life)?

*Q6 - Reading Luke 23 verses (35-37) And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”  (36)  The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine  (37)  and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”

It is recorded in Vs.40-41... And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”  (41)  So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Save yourself and us!”  (40)  But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?  (41)  And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”  (42)  And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
