Name of God #8 of 15 – Jehovah Rapha
[Quote from Megan Allen Ministries – Jehovah Rapha – Lord Who Heals
This is one of my favorite Hebrew meanings of the names of God. God gave His Son, Christ Jesus, not only to meet our greatest need of salvation but also to heal our greatest brokenness – sin. Our Jehovah Rapha sent His Son to heal the devastating effects of sin and restore our broken relationship with Him.
And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.” – Exodus 15:26 …end of quote.]

I invite you to turn to Exodus 15, it is an intriguing read… It starts with what is termed the ‘Song of Moses’, where the account of Israel’s deliverance from the Egyptian armed force as they pursued them into the Red Sea and were drowned there, all by the miraculous work of God.
— The people of Israel are singing this song, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
— And the next thing you know, they are complaining against Moses for the bitter water in the wilderness of Shur.
Exodus 15:23-26 When they came to Marah, they could not drink the water of Marah because it was bitter; therefore it was named Marah. (24) And the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” (25) And he cried to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a log, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There the LORD made for them a statute and a rule, and there he tested them, (26) saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.”
Note the underlined scripture, where it tells us that God tested them.
— Yes, God is still our healer, however, we too must pass the test…
“What is the test?” …you may ask.
— Well if the answer is received, it quiets a lot of our own complaints of unanswered prayers for healing. For the test of my own unanswered prayers is found in whether I faithfully wait for God’s timing in answering, or do I choose to grumble and complain and enter a mood of disillusionment and distrust.
— How is you Faith holding up? – Is God still your Jehovah Rapha?
