Is it just a ‘Canadian Thing’?

— I am referring to the habit we have of being embarrassed by overt displays of passion for a cause. (Picture a crowd listening to an inspiring speech.) It takes some brave soul to fight off his/her fear of embarrassment, and rise to give a ‘standing ovation’… And lo and behold, it triggers a like response from many others, soon the whole room is on their feet applauding.

— What happened to break through the hesitancy to give this visible support?

It reminds me of the scriptures from Isaiah 40:9-18… “Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!” Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD, or what man shows him his counsel? Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust. Lebanon would not suffice for fuel, nor are its beasts enough for a burnt offering. All the nations are as nothing before him, they are accounted by him as less than nothing and emptiness. To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?

— Surely this is a message to the likes of Putin, and all other despot leadership that is and is to come in the final annals of this sad old world.

— Just as surely this is a message to encourage us to be bold in proclaiming the rule of justice from God Almighty and to comfort all those who are oppressed and fleeing all the evil in this world.

THE LORD GOD OF ALL WILL CERTAINLY DELIVER JUSTICE FOR THE OPPRESSED.

— All those who deny His authority and existence will be found groveling on their knees, weeping and wailing at the thought of their former ignorance and blindness…

SEE: Isaiah 45:22-24… “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’ “Only in the LORD, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed all who were incensed against him.

Let’s pray that conviction from God’s Holy Spirit comes upon the leadership of the nations, and pray that His Holy Spirit comforts and strengthens all those who walk through the terrible times these leaders have forced upon them. (KK)
