If I believe in Jesus, have I gained eternal life? (John 3:16)

If I believe in Jesus do I have eternal life? (SEE John 3:16)

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
-- YES, praise the Lord, believing in Jesus as the Son of God sent to pay the penalty for your sin (and mine) is ALL that is required to be set gloriously free from guilt and punishment.
-- However, that word believe is not as simple as some might want to claim.
