God’s plan for Christmas… By K. Kriese
It was the night before Christmas, and God had a plan…
To rescue this earth, for the salvation of man.
His chosen couple was found, not in palaces high…
For when God reaches down, He draws ALL mankind nigh.
God’s couple was descended from King David’s line…
Mary, expecting her first-born, and Joseph, a carpenter, kind.
The birthplace was set, by ancient prophecy told…
In lowly Bethlehem town, God’s saving plan would unfold.
There was no room for the needy, as so common with man…
So, God’s child would be born, with the ox and the lamb.
And to whom should the angels announce this glad news?
To the rich and the famous? – Now whom would God choose?
But look, a commotion, In the fields ore the town…
Bright angels sing a chorus, to some shepherds they’d found.
They bring tidings of joy, as their hosts fill the sky…
And the shepherds they tremble, at holiness, close by.
When angel chorus departs, and the shepherds revive…
They need to go see, this bless’d Savior of mankind.
And by the angel’s directions, they find God’s Holy Child…
There in humble manger, a babe, helpless, meek, and mild.
Did God send a message, to all on this earth…
That holy night, coming to us by low birth?
His babe to be rejected, and die on a cross…
Sin’s debt to pay, for you, and I… all the lost.
Yes, in Jesus we celebrate, God’s gift to mankind…
He still reigns overall, …as one day we’ll all find.
We hope you’re aware, and in Christ you’ve received…
For this babe brought salvation, for all who believe.
We wish you this season; more than gifts and bright lights…
May God bless you this Christmas, …and to all a good night.
