2/ The struggle in giving your future over to God… (The need to control our “one life to live”.)
— We say, “It’s my life, I only get to live it once, therefore I should be able to choose how I will spend my one time around.

This statement contains a BIG LIE, planted in us by the Father of Lies…

— Many that are heading down the “broad road that leads to destruction” are led by this lie.

It is the idea that you only have one life to live. Let’s look at what God tells us in His word (the Bible):

Revelations 2:10-11  Don’t worry about what you will suffer. The devil will throw some of you into jail, and you will be tested and made to suffer for ten days. But if you are faithful until you die, I will reward you with a glorious life.  (11)  If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. Whoever wins the victory will not be hurt by the second death.

Revelations 20:5-6  These people are the first to be raised to life, and they are especially blessed and holy. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests for God and Christ and will rule with them for a thousand years. No other dead people were raised to life until a thousand years later.

Revelations 20:14-15  Afterwards, death and its kingdom were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  (15)  Anyone whose name wasn’t written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelations 21:8  But I will tell you what will happen to cowards and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies. They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulphur. This is the second death.

— How many times does this tell us that some will die? (SEE the words ‘second death’.)

That also means we all will die once and then be judged whether we live on or die again. (A second death)

— Satan wants to hide this truth from you. He wants you to ignorantly think that this life is all there is.

— If he succeeds in this then you will have no hope of escaping the final ‘second death’. Because only those who accept God’s word that Jesus came as a free gift payment for their former sins can gain God’s promise of another eternal life. This is only given to the repentant who accept Jesus as their Savior.

— All others are resurrected only to be destroyed by a second death, where Satan is waiting to glory in your destruction.

The most serious decision you can make in this life is about whom you will believe, Satan or God. Eternal life comes from God, eternal death comes from Satan.

Here are two other FACTS OF LIFE that many refuse to accept:

1/ Matthew 6:19-24 Don’t store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will always be where your treasure is. Your eyes are like a window for your body. When they are good, you have all the light you need. But when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. If the light inside you is dark, you surely are in the dark. You cannot be the slave of two masters! You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

& 1^st Peter 5:8-11 Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack. But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord’s followers are suffering just as you are. But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That’s why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm. God will be in control forever! Amen.

— The only way to escape Satan and his deceptions is through faith in Jesus the sacrificial Lamb of God.

— Otherwise, you serve the master of this world and all worldly thinking… As Joshua said, “Choose this day whom you will serve.”

2/ From Matthew 7:12-14  Treat others as you want them to treat you. This is what the Law and the Prophets are all about.  (13)  Go in through the narrow gate. The gate to destruction is wide, and the road that leads there is easy to follow. A lot of people go through that gate.  (14)  But the gate to life is very narrow. The road that leads there is so hard to follow that only a few people find it.

— The wide and easy road is to accept Satan’s lies and live for yourself and your pleasures. Only to end in the destruction of the second death.

— The narrow and difficult road is to ‘pick up your cross, and follow Jesus’. Even though this means separation from and the persecutions of this world, it assures you of an eternal life in paradise, which is the reward that Jesus went ahead to prepare for you… Don’t give it up!
