Do you fear the idea of ‘spirits’?

— It seems that many believers struggle with the idea of the separation of body and spirit.

— And Satan, the Deceiver, loves to use people’s fear to cause them to accept lies of the dead walking this earth.

— This lack of understanding causes much confusion in Godly truth, such as that of the ‘rapture’ (The first resurrection of those who died believing in our Savior Jesus Christ.) They ask, “Why do we need the rapture of God’s children if we all go to heaven at death?”

— The apostle Paul stated clearly that your spirit goes, immediately on your death, to be with the Lord…
Philippians 1:21-24  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  (22)  If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.  (23)  I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.  (24)  But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.

~ This can only mean that Paul had no problem understanding that at death his body would ‘sleep in the grave’ while his spirit would go to be with the Lord.

We are all made up of body and spirit, and all living things are made up of a body, and the spirit of life that only comes from God… Mankind in our ‘Tower of Babel’ desire to be like God continues to this day to find this power to give life to the inanimate.

I, as a hunter of meat for our family, have no problem with understanding the spirit of life in all that lives and breathes. If I may, I would relate to you a brief and poignant experience I had that made this so clear to me.

— I had the opportunity to shoot a young buck (deer) once, and as I joyfully approached the successful kill, I arrived just in time to see one of God’s beautiful creatures’ final death throes. As I carefully approached the prostrate still twitching animal, I was moved with rightful compassion mixed with thanksgiving, for our provision in him. As I placed my hand of comfort on his warm and beautiful body and felt his breathing cease, I watched the life leave his big dark brown eyes. Never before had it been made so plain and obvious that the spirit of life dwells in God’s creatures, and returns to the giver when its time is done.

— Men and women, and all human beings, are given a special spirit that dwells in them for God didn’t just speak them into existence as with the other creatures, but God formed them with His hands and breathed the spirit into them. (Genesis 2:7  then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.)

— Therefore can you understand that your body is of the dirt of this earth, and will return to the dust from which it came, but the spirit comes from God. He breathed life into you, at your birth, and indeed God tells us clearly that this spirit of life comes even at your moment of conception. It returns to Him at your death, awaiting judgement for those who had achieved an age of understanding, and rejected the free gift of our Saviour. Your spirit then waits for final judgement bound by God in ‘the pit’ place of regret.
— While the spirit of those who had accepted Jesus as Saviour goes to a place called ‘paradise’ where we dwell in spirit with God, awaiting the return of Jesus to judge the earth.
— Those spirits are not allowed the freedom to wander the earth, they are all in holding places, awaiting God’s final act to come to fulfillment on the earth. Any other ‘manifestation’ of a lost loved one’s spirit is a deception of one of Lucifer’s fallen angel beings, commonly known as demons. (The Bible records rare instances when God allows and ordains a living spirit of one of His own followers to return for a purpose to interact with a person on this earth… SEE 1st Samuel 28; Matthew 17:1-4) This is not one of the powers Satan has.

Those spirits are not flesh and blood, and that is why we need the ‘rapture’ to give us a New Glorified Body, much like the one Jesus displayed as He walked through locked doors, and ascended into heaven at the end of His earthly ministry. His body also was a body of the first fruits of His resurrection. (SEE John 20:27-29  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”  (28)  Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”  (29)  Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”)

— Are you one of the blessed, ~ “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

— I pray that God’s Holy Spirit opens your mind to fully comprehend the truth of your own body and spirit, and the truth of your future in eternity.

— I also pray that for those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord, that the Holy Spirit may show you your need to return to the Father in Heaven, He created you for a blessed eternity within His amazing Kingdom coming. Simply repent of the sin that we all once lived in, turn away from that life, accept his payment for those failures, and receive His redemption, fully and completely, from any record of such. In Jesus, we all are able to receive this new life.

May God richly bless you as you walk in the truth of this wonderful understanding. …KK
