Bible Quiz #1: Why would God refuse people of other faiths?

Bible Quiz #1: Why would God refuse people of other faiths?   (Pg.#1)

Some might ask, “Why would a loving God refuse people of other faiths entrance to heaven?”

See what Jesus told us in John 14:1-6  “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.  (2)  In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?  (3)  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.  (4)  And you know the way to where I am going.”  (5)  Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”  (6)  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Why does God refuse other ‘WAYS’ of reaching up to God?

– Our struggle to understand God’s ways stems from our INABILITY to understand who God is.
– In this quiz mark all answers you think correct.
– If you don’t believe in a Creator, this still may help you to understand what Christians believe.

Q1. Do you believe that you are able to fathom all the factors of who our Creator God is and what He is doing?

O – Yes, I’ve read the Bible, and I know who the Christian God is and what he’s all about.

O – No, I’ve read the Bible, and it causes me to want to know more about who God is and to get to know Him better.

Question #1 comes right out of the pages of the Bible. Read what God Himself asks of His servant Job…

Job 38:1-6 (GNB) Then out of the storm the LORD spoke to Job.  (2)  Who are you to question my wisdom with your ignorant, empty words?  (3)  Now stand up straight and answer the questions I ask you.  (4)  Were you there when I made the world? If you know so much, tell me about it.  (5)  Who decided how large it would be? Who stretched the measuring line over it? Do you know all the answers?  (6)  What holds up the pillars that support the earth? Who laid the cornerstone of the world?

  • Okay, right from the start, we see that the book of Job records that our Creator God finds it offensive for a created mortal to question His ways. (Kinda like a pot correcting the potter.)

Q2. Which verse causes you to grasp God’s scolding tone in these verses?

O – (2) Who are you to question my wisdom with your ignorant, empty words?.

O – (3) Now stand up straight and answer the questions I ask you.

O – (4) Were you there when I made the world? If you know so much, tell me about it.

When king Balak of Moab, an enemy of Israel, asked the prophet Ballam what the LORD had told him, Balaam uttered this prophecy: “Come, Balak son of Zippor, And listen to what I have to say. God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes his mind. Whatever he promises, he does; He speaks, and it is done.” (From Numbers 23:17-19)

Q3. What does this say about the Creator God?

God…   O – is just like us.     O – is not like us.     O – doesn’t lie.     O – does what He promises.

Bible Quiz #1: Why would God refuse people of other faiths?   (Pg.#2)

Looking into the New Testament book of Revelations…

We read in Revelations 21:5-6 Then the one who sits on the throne said, “And now I make all things new!” He also said to me, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.”  (6)  And he said, “It is done! I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end. To anyone who is thirsty I will give the right to drink from the spring of the water of life without paying for it.”

We also read in Revelations 22:12-14 “Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! I will bring my rewards with me, to give to each one according to what he has done.  (13)  I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”  (14)  Happy are those who wash their robes clean and so have the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city. (Speaking of the heavenly New Jerusalem. -KK)

Q4. Does this tell us who is “the first and the last, the beginning and the end”?

O – No, and I still haven’t figured that out.     O – We read here that it is Jesus.

Q5. How are we made clean as in Vs.14? “Happy are those who wash their robes clean and so have the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city.”

O – By trying to be good.     O – By washing our “robes clean”.     O – By doing good works.

1st John 1:5-9 tells us how we do this… Now the message that we have heard from his Son and announce is this: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him. (6) If, then, we say that we have fellowship with him, yet at the same time live in the darkness, we are lying both in our words and in our actions. (7) But if we live in the light, just as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin. (8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us. (9) But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.

Q6. How did God make a way for us to be cleansed of all our sin?

O – Through cleansing rituals and ceremonies.     O – Through chants and holy mantras.

O – Through a thorough washing of our clothes.     O – Through the cleansing blood of Jesus.

We read in John 3:16-18…  For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior. Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son.

Q7. If GOD has made a way for us to be saved, but we refuse HIS way… Do you really think that we can find another way into HIS Kingdom.

O – Yes, there must be another way.     O – No, because we are not God, and God’s truth stands.

In closing let’s remember Revelations 22:12…  “Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! I will bring my rewards with me, to give to each one according to what he has done.”

– I pray that I will see you there, receiving all that God wants to bless you with.  (KK)
