About the future

About the future…      Pg.#1

— There has been a decline of the (Jesus is alive and we have the power of the Holy Spirit) Christian church here in Canada… I also witness our merciful, loving, and holy God (and His people) regularly disparaged, ridiculed, and attacked in various media reports. I sense the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah looming over our horizon.
— Sadly, these attacks are not only found in the media, it is possible to overhear such comments while sitting having coffee in Tim Hortons.

I admit I find this discouraging, however, I continue to pray that God will somehow bring correction from His Word (the Bible) deep into the hearts of all in this nation…

I see God turning the tragedy of the Charlie Kirk assassination, into a powerful move of God to correct, and convict all the nations of sin.

*Such CORRECTION was the reason Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us in the first place.*

SEE John 16:7-15 (ESV) Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. (8) And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: (9) concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; (10) concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; (11) concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (12) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. (13) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (14) He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. (15) All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

What does ‘He (The Holy Spirit) will convict the world concerning sin’ mean?

(In the ERV Bible) John 16:8 “When the Helper comes, he will show the people of the world how wrong they are about sin, about being right with God, and about judgment.

— I hope you see the value of this verse translated thus, as it defines:

  1. Conviction of sin as being shown how wrong we are about what sin is. …(Describe?)
  2. Conviction of righteousness by revealing what is right according to our Creator God.
  3. Conviction about who exactly will be the final Judge, we shall all stand before.
(For more on this see Revelations 20:11-15)

— The word conviction used in John 16:8, in fact means revealing a denial of truth.

Q1(a). Can you name any TWO truths you see denied by worldly people today?

2/ ________________________________________________________________________

Others? ____________________________________________________________________

Q1(b). How should we try to counter these errors?

We’ll look into all the roles of the Holy Spirit found in John 16:7-15 on next page…

Roles of the Holy Spirit from John 16:7-15 (ESV)      Pg.#2

(Vs.7) Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

Q2. Would you care to testify of ways God’s Holy Spirit has helped you through a difficult time? _____________________________________________________________________

(Vs.8-11) And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: (9) concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; (10) concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; (11) concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
God’s Holy Spirit is here to convict us of wrong doing and wrong thinking…

Q3. Could we expand our understanding on what exactly is, “wrong thinking”? ___________________________________________________________________________

___________________________________________________________________________

(Vs.12-15) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
Q4. The truths that the Holy Spirit reveals to us come from whom? ___________________________________________________________________________

The Holy Spirit is here to help us discern what is of God and therefore also, what is not.
There is a serious caution about this, found in the Book of Matthew chapter 12… Highlighted in (Vs.24) But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”

Here they claimed the work of the Holy Spirit in healing this man was of the devil.

— Jesus points out that any such unrepentant denial will mean they choose hell over heaven. And Jesus states, “blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.”

— If we refuse to let the Holy Spirit turn us away from our sins, we refuse salvation…

Also see, John 6:44  No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

I would encourage you to read Matthew 12:9-32, if you wish to learn more of
how the Holy Spirit is needed to lead any of us to faith and therefore, salvation.

– However, today we will close with a time of testimony, fellowship, and prayer… God bless!

…In Christ, KRK
