About Disappointment by Ken Kriese / December 5/21/revised July/23
Told she’d have no more children, mother just prayed.
Men may have determined, but God has His way.
She glorified her Savior, in hurt and in pain.
And so three more children, were added again.
I was one added late, great plans I had made,
But I messed up in school, missing a grade.
My future lay trashed, so I cried out to God.
My thoughts were all stuck in this mortal sod.
After tragedy struck and I’d lost one that I’d loved,
He’d a wife and family planned, one picked from above.
God said He’d been waiting, now my future secure.
I found peace and contentment in His promises sure.
Life’s given me good times, I’ve had blessings and though,
I’ve left my dreams to follow, He’s given adventures untold.
Sometimes I struggle, but I will never let go.
He carries me through, correcting all that I know.
His ways give us peace, we’ll lack nothing in Him.
We’re never alone even through valleys so grim.
From the peaks, to the pits, just hold to His hand.
Through waters so deep, He’ll lead to spaces so grand.
I’m never disappointed, as so fast does He hold.
When praised and overflowing, He’s anchored my soul.
I could never be worthy, but His grace fills my cup.
Although weak and needy, He’s lifted me up.
When you make God your master it takes humility.
Want a life of adventure? …well, He holds the key.
The world goes on blindly, seeking fame with greed,
Always searching for more, when He’s all that we need.
Are His messages hidden? …not for eyes that will see.
Is His name kept a secret? …not from you or from me.
Has He left us His teachings? Do you know where to look?
He’d men write them down, know the name of the book?
Where can you find them? Do you really want to know?
His love we’ve forsaken and we’ve abandoned Him so.
On a cross they first hung Him, rejected instead.
His love letter written, now torn and unread.
Happy the ones who find Him, a Savior indeed.
I’m speaking of Jesus, if you hadn’t perceived.
His love still calls to us, to all those in need.
Just open the Bible, His Word is the seed.
Life’s disappointments, they’re just turns in the road.
When the Master of all comes to carry your load.
The soon-coming King Jesus, HE’S NOT FAR AWAY.
So lift up your eyes, YOU CAN FIND HIM TODAY.

What a deep and wonderful poem! It shows your humble heart, and tells you the promises that God gives us even though we don’t deserve anything. It also speaks that his promises are greater and that we must not loose hope. Lovely’ I love you! ❤️
