As a lead-in to this study I recommend this necessary introduction of the English verb, ‘to Judge’…
From Jesus’ own words in Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” (KJV of the Bible.)
To Judge – (Greek word) krinō (kree’-no); …by implication to try, condemn, punish: – avenge, conclude, condemn, damn, decree…
Introductory Question:
Who alone has the knowledge required to judge anyone according to these terms?

Is there any confusion about judging… (Pg.1)
We start with a review of what Jesus says in Matthew 7:1-3 (ESV) “Judge not, that you be not judged. (2) For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. (3) Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Q1. Who is judging whom, in this scenario? Condemning, punishing, avenging, damning, who?
☐ Christians judging Christians. ☐ The Worldly judging the Worldly.
☐ Christians judging the Worldly. ☐ All of these (anyone judging anyone).
— Therefore, Jesus is teaching that we should not condemn _____________________.
Q2. What is the danger of judging others?

Next, we will read the letter written by the Apostle Paul to the Christians in Corinth,
it seems they have problems with worldly disputes among the people in their church…
1st Corinthians 6:1-8 ESV When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? (2) Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? (3) Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! (4) So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church? (5) I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers, (6) but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers? (7) To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? (8) But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!
Are we confused yet? – Read on as Paul teaches on the subject of judging?
Paul also asks… “are you incompetent to try trivial cases?”
Q3. What do you think are “trivial cases”? ☐ spiritual matters. ☐ worldly matters.
— Note well what Jesus just said in our study of Matthew 5:38-41 ESV “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ (39) But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. (40) And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. (41) And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
— Compare this to Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 6:5-8… (Discuss)

Is there any confusion about judging… (Pg.2)
Now, let’s dig deeper into what God had Paul write on the subject of judging…
(From Vs.2) Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?
Q4. When will the saints (Christians) judge the world? — To answer read: Revelation 5:9-10…
— Revelation 5:9-10… And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, *for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, (10) and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, **and they shall reign on the earth.” …(Discuss)
Q5. Who will reign with Jesus? (**) ☐ Church martyrs. ☐ Apostle Paul. ☐ Christians.
To verify the answer to Q5. — SEE Revelation 3:20-22… Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (21) The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. (22) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

— This time for judging is found in Revelation 20:4… Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Q6.When will these believers reign on the earth with Jesus?
☐ During the Tribulation. ☐ In the Millennium. ☐ Right now.
(If you want to know more about who reigns in Heaven, read Revelation chapter 4…)
Continuing in 1st Corinthians 6:3… Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!
(Judging angels pertains to the angelic realm. Angels are spiritual beings created by God.)
Q7. Are Christians able to judge in the spirit realm? ☐ YES. ☐ NO.
The answer is found in 1st John 4:1-3… Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (2) By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, (3) and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

Finishing in 1st Corinthians 6:5-7… I say this to your shame.
Q8. Why is it a shame and a DEFEAT for Christians to take each other to civil court?

We’ll let Jesus have the final word on ‘judging’, from Matthew 7:1-2… “Judge not, that you be not judged. (2) For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.”
Q9. A quick review of the main subject… What is the danger of Judging anyone? _____________________________________________________________________________
Jesus also warned us in (Vs.5) “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
Q10. Therefore, what must we be sure of before we correct anyone? _____________________________________________________________________________
I feel it is safe to say that if we dare correct, or counsel anyone…
It must be done with Empathy, Love, and Humility.
— We will move to prayer-time, holding to this call to try to understand, love, and serve others.
