Who is God to you?
– As we think about who God is to us, we should ask ourselves, “How much time do I want to spend with Him?” – This will truly reveal how much we value our relationship with God.
– If you spend all your time fellowshipping with others and do not like alone times, perhaps you value your relationships with others more than your relationship with God.
This is a very personal question, “Who is God to me?”. – And I would simply ask us all to come to the correct understanding of how He desires so deeply to be recognized as your closest dearest friend and Father.
SEE James 4:8 (GNB) Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites!
– This verse comes out of a passage that focuses on those who desire to follow Jesus, but have a hard time leaving behind worldly appetites and their friendships.
-James makes it clear that God desires a foremost relationship with you and me. Who could question that reasoning, if we recognize it was for that very reason He made us.
-If you will only draw near to Him, God will draw near to you, and your relationship will last forever.
I will let God’s Word close.
First, an OT promise God gives to His people:
Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV) Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
And then God continues this commitment in the NT, as Jesus gives this promise and command as His final parting words:
Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV) And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
-Can you say that any of your most close and intimate relationships will be able to walk with you through the door that opens when we die?
Remember, only Jesus is able to be there for you and I.
If you haven’t already done so, call out to Him today. …(KK)
