Quick Quips:
1/ It’s tough when you need your glasses to find your glasses.
— You can’t see the spiritual realm with earthly eyes.
2/ You can’t put the Holy Spirit at the back of the bus.
3/ God can work in every culture, IF THAT CULTURE PUTS GOD FIRST.
— Therefore, culture should not be judging culture, but be sure God will judge each for their own failures.
4/ The Bible is God’s love letter to His children (close and far off), do we even care to read it?
5/ If you receive a love letter, do you read only a small part or do you read the whole of it?
6/ The flesh and the spirit speak in different languages.
7/ The fleshly you and I have an expiry date, however, our spirits were designed for eternity.
8/ Is it right for the CREATED to dictate to its CREATOR?
9/ When ALL CREATION bows before its CREATOR, will you do so willingly or with great trepidation?
10/ I call my HEARING AIDS my EARS, sometimes I go around asking, “Has anyone seen my ears?” Does this relate to a statement of Jesus, “He who has ears, let them hear.”?
11/ Can you MEDITATE on God, (taking time to hear from Him) when surrounded by demands and noise?
— (Who wants to DISTRACT you from taking time to be with God? – I am speaking of spiritual warfare here.)
12/ Does it seem hard to have a QUIET TIME before the Lord? (Can you hear from God if you don’t quiet yourself?)
13/ Does your environment stop you from taking that quiet time to hear from God? (What should you do about that?)
14/ If you truly love someone, DO YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THEM?
(Think about it, and may God bless you! …KK)
Some great lyrics to think about:
Failure isn’t final with the Father, failure opens doors to start again. Falling only hurts for a season, and starting over brings new life again. – (Praise The Lord! And if you need a new start, turn to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness and renewal.)
More Quick Quips:
15/ I’ve found that God’s creatures (our pets) bond most firmly with the one who spends time with them. Do we need to spend more time with God? (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
16/ If you trust only in your logical understanding you will never leave the boat and walk on the water. (SEE Matthew 14:22-33)
— Do you FEAR God’s Holy Spirit? This is often revealed when we resist Him.
17/ When Jesus said, “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.” (John 3:7) The word which in English best translates as MUST, is not just a need, that you might somehow work around, it is an IMPERATIVE. To be saved you MUST be born of the SPIRIT, for the fleshly understanding can only perish and pass away.
18/ We need to be made to look more like Jesus, not to make Jesus look more like us…
— We need to give God control, not try to control God.
19/ The GOOD in walking through trying times is found when we turn to God and find He has been walking with us all the while.
— Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
20/ If you hold fast to your faith in God, even when tempted by suffering to doubt, you will see God restore your faith fully.
— Sadly, if you let suffering cause your faith to slip away, it will continue to erode and fade away.
21/ Can we sing THE SONG OF HABAKKUK… Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, (18) yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. (19) GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. (To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments.)
— I pray we all feel the strength and confidence of those feet of faith, as we ascend to higher ground.
22/ Remember, Satan is NOT A CREATOR, he is a CORRUPTOR…
— Lucifer took his gift of music from God, and continues to pervert it unto this day.
23/ Genesis 3:10 And he (Adam) said, “I heard the sound of you (God) in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
— Humanity is still AFRAID, still feeling NAKED, guilty, vulnerable, and still we search for every avenue to HIDE FROM GOD.
24/ If it was God’s plan for mankind to remain perfect, as Adam and Eve were first created, then why did He put the tree of the ‘knowledge of good and evil’ in the garden to be there to tempt them?
— From the beginning, God knew our nature to stray, and He knew that we would fall and need a SAVIOUR. The wonderful truth and freedom in this is that you and I don’t stand accused by our ancestory to Adam and Eve. By the sacrifice of Jesus we all are given the chance to choose for ourselves whether we are also going to disobey. We disobey when we refuse God’s gift of forgiveness and eternal life through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
25/ Does God suffer as He hears His creation groaning? (SEE Romans 8:18-23)
– Could it be that God delays because He is waiting for you to be saved? (But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. …SEE 2nd Peter 3:8-9)
26/ Just because Jesus “KNOWS our every weakness”, doesn’t mean He will SUPPORT those weaknesses in us.
27/ The life-span of a house-fly and that of a man are equal, when compared to the span of ETERNITY.
28/ Temporal life is indeed fleeting and then gone.
— Eternal life is reached when our ‘spirit returns to God’, who gave it…
29/ I do not glory in my minisculity… rather I glory in that an ALL GREAT GOD still cares for me.
30/ Happy is the love of the trustworthy…
31/ The sovereignty of man brings anxiety and fear…
The sovereignty of God brings peace and security.
32/ Two questions about God’s expectation of ‘Holiness’.
— Do you pursue holiness, or do you see it as a wall, a barrier between you and the world? – It shouldn’t be a barrier, but it must be a separation.
— Does holiness seem like a pursuit of a no-fun, no-joy lifestyle? – It shouldn’t turn us into sour Christians, but it should limit what we consider pleasurable.
33/ Worldly living steals and destroys… It steals your youth and innocence, it kills your ideals, it destroys your old age, it promises freedom but leaves you bound in chains… SEE what Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
34/ In Matthew 16:18 we are told that as God builds His church “…the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” ~ Remember that ‘GATES’ are stationary… That means God’s church is still advancing, and hell’s gates are crumbling.
35/ If you do not accept the idea of the supernatural (Something beyond what we can touch, taste or see), then you need to experience it.
— I did when at the age of 8, I was instantly healed when my dad prayed for me… Now I can NEVER deny the supernatural powers that exist, and ‘I know whom I have believed’ (An old hymn title from 2nd Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.)
— God’s love reaches out to even the un-trustworthy as He gives us a chance to BELIEVE in Him and trust Him for a NEW LIFE.
